The Honourary Chair Jouka ‘Jau’ Yrjölä was the Chair of The Finnish Kennel Club 1990–1995. During his chairmanship Yrjölä managed to get the World Dog Show 1998 to Finland. Even before his chairmanship Yrjölä had a long history with the Finnish Kennel Club. He had been part of The Finnish Kennel Club’s Council since 1962 and the Board since 1977. Due to Yrjölä’s proposal in the Board meeting The Finnish Spitz became the National dog of Finland in 1979.
